Tristram Davies, known as Tris, is a Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Therapist with a practical, hands-on approach to helping people feel better in their body and keep doing the things they enjoy.

Originally a trainee equestrian eventer, he developed a strong understanding of how the body responds to training, physical demand and repeated strain. He went on to complete advanced massage and soft tissue therapy training with the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage in London, undertaking a more in-depth course than many therapists, with extensive hands-on training, practical examinations and case study work.

As Amanda Marsh’s partner, Tris has long seen how physical therapy can improve people’s quality of life and has found the same through his own client work, using skilled soft tissue techniques to reduce tension, support posture, improve muscle elasticity and help people recover more comfortably.

He works with a wide range of clients, from sporty and highly active individuals to people dealing with everyday tightness, stress and muscular discomfort. He believes sports massage is for everyone, not just athletes, and always adapts treatment to the person in front of him.

How Tris can help Tris supports patients with a wide range of muscular tension, soft tissue discomfort and movement-related issues. Sports massage and soft tissue therapy are commonly used to help with neck and shoulder tension, desk-related tightness, training soreness, reduced flexibility and muscular discomfort linked to daily life or exercise.

He is particularly well placed to help people with postural tension, lower back tightness, shoulder or neck discomfort, lower leg tightness, and trigger points, fibromyalgia, DOMS and the general build-up of stress and tension in the body. His work also suits people looking for regular maintenance, support around training and recovery or treatment to help them feel looser, more comfortable and better supported physically.

Tris also offers hot stones treatment for those wanting a more soothing and calming experience. While sports massage is often the better fit for recovery, maintenance and tighter problem areas, hot stones can be an excellent option for stress, general tension and full-body relaxation.

How Tris works Tris takes an individual, responsive approach to treatment. He uses hands-on soft tissue techniques to help release tension, improve muscle length and elasticity, support posture and enhance comfort in movement.

His work is not just about treating what feels tight on the day. He also considers how the body is coping overall, helping clients recover well, maintain better tissue health and reduce the risk of problems building up over time.

A key part of his approach is comfort and consent. Pressure is always adapted to the individual and clients are encouraged to say if they would like less pressure, need an area avoided or want treatment adjusted in any way. He works with what feels appropriate, useful and manageable for that person on that day.

What to expect At your appointment, Tris will take time to understand what is bothering you, how your body has been feeling and what you would like from treatment. Sessions are tailored to the individual and may focus on specific areas or take a broader full-body approach, depending on your needs and preferences.

During treatment, dignity and comfort are always respected. Tris works using his hands and hands-on massage techniques, sometimes including passive stretching where appropriate. For sports massage, treatment is focused and practical, while hot stones sessions use heated basalt stones to encourage soothing release and relaxation.

After treatment, many people feel looser, calmer and more comfortable in their body. Some may feel a little tired or mildly sore, particularly if muscles were tight beforehand. Gentle hydration, easy movement and rest where needed are usually sensible afterwards.

Lucy has worked across both NHS and private practice, supporting people recovering from injury, surgery and long-term musculoskeletal conditions.

Her clinical experience spans a wide range of areas, including sports injuries, musculoskeletal pain and trauma and orthopaedics. Alongside her clinic work, she has provided pitch-side care for Marlborough Rugby Club, assessing injuries, supporting players and helping them return safely to sport.

Her background within NHS trauma and orthopaedic services has given her a strong understanding of complex injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation. She regularly supports patients recovering from procedures such as knee replacements, shoulder stabilisation surgery and ankle fractures, as well as those managing longer-term conditions affecting movement and function.

Lucy takes a down-to-earth, person-centred approach. She believes recovery is not only about treating the injury itself, but also about helping people feel confident and capable again. Her aim is to support patients in regaining strength, movement and trust in their body so they can return to the activities that matter to them.

How Lucy can help Lucy supports patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and movement-related conditions. Physiotherapy is commonly used to help with joint and muscle pain, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation and recovery following trauma such as falls or twists.

She is particularly well placed to support people recovering from ligament injuries, joint dislocations, fractures and tendon problems, as well as those managing conditions such as lower back pain, sciatica, shoulder instability, knee pain and arthritis. Her work also suits individuals who are finding it difficult to return to sport or activity after injury, or who are dealing with longer-term pain affecting movement and daily life.

Lucy also works closely with athletes and active individuals, supporting safe return to training and competition through structured rehabilitation and clear guidance.

How Lucy works Lucy takes a structured and person-centred approach to physiotherapy. She begins by understanding how pain, injury or surgery is affecting movement, function and confidence, looking beyond the immediate area of symptoms to the wider mechanics of the body.

Treatment may include hands-on physiotherapy, rehabilitation exercises and practical advice to support recovery and reduce the risk of recurrence. Her focus is on creating a clear, progressive plan that helps patients rebuild strength, mobility and confidence over time.

Where appropriate, she works closely with the wider team at Marsh Physio Plus to ensure patients receive the most suitable combination of treatment, rehabilitation and ongoing support.

What to expect At your first appointment, Lucy will take time to understand your symptoms, injury history and activity goals before carrying out a detailed physical assessment. This helps build a clear picture of what is contributing to the problem and how best to approach treatment.

Sessions are tailored to the individual and may include hands-on treatment, exercise-based rehabilitation and guidance on activity, training and recovery between appointments.

Lucy’s approach is supportive and practical, helping patients understand their injury, feel confident in their recovery and progress safely back to their usual activities.
